Additionally, Jack has been a frequent lecturer on a variety of real estate development related subjects, including synthetic leases, securitized financings and legal opinions. Jack is also Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Carnegie Museum of Natural History and a life trustee and member of the Executive Committee of the Carnegie Institute. In 2006, Jack was selected as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer®.

Mark is executive Director of the Birmingham Foundation, a private foundation created by the sale of South Side Hospital to UPMC. Previously, Mark directed the $20 million redevelopment of the hundred million square foot historical Pittsburgh Terminal Properties buildings on the City’s South Side. He is also co-founder of Changing Directions, a consultation firm for non-profit organizations that work in children’s issues and direct care. Prior to his venture in the Pittsburgh Terminal Properties, he was the Executive Director of Louise Child Care and owner and President of Puro Water, Inc. Mark’s community involvement include Chairman positions for the Pittsburgh History & Landmarks Foundation, East End Cooperative Ministries and Friends of the Riverfront.

In August 2000, Renny joined the senior administrative team at the University of Pittsburgh where he serves as Vice Chancellor for Community Initiatives and Chief of Staff in the Office of the Chancellor with responsibilities for governmental relations, local economic and community development initiatives and the daily operations and programs of the Chancellor’s office. Renny retired in April 2000 after a 33-year career at the former Westinghouse Electric Corporation where his responsibilities as Chairman of the Westinghouse Foundation included corporate philanthropy and community sponsorship programs. Renny is very active in a number of cultural, civic and sports organizations and serves on the boards of: Advisory Board of the Salvation Army of Southwestern Pennsylvania, Family House, Greater Pittsburgh Council - Boy Scouts of America, Jumonville Foundation, Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera, Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy, Pittsburgh Partnership for Neighborhood Development, Regional Industrial Development Corporation, United Methodist Foundation of Western Pennsylvania, United Way of Allegheny County and the Advisory Board of the Allegheny Regional Asset District.

Tom’s extensive professional career most recently included positions as Distinguished Service Professor at Duquesne University, accepting this position after he served as Dean of Duquesne University’s Business School. Prior to his career in Academia, he served as President of the Westinghouse Electric Corporation’s Energy and Advanced Technology Group, culminating a 36 year career with the organization. Tom also served as Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Department of Commerce, nominated by President George H. Bush and confirmed by the Senate. His extensive civic duties include Chairman positions for the Pittsburgh Tissue Engineering Initiative, New Century Careers Program and the Holy Family Institute for Learning Abilities.
Dr. Alan Russell

Dr. Alan J. Russell is Director of the McGowan Institute for Regenerative Medicine and serves as University Professor of Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He also has Professorial appointments in the departments of Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, and the Department of Rehabilitation Science and Technology at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Russell is the founding president of the Tissue Engineering & Regenerative Medicine International Society and currently is Executive Director of the Pittsburgh Tissue Engineering Initiative (PTEI) as well as Director of the National Tissue Engineering Center. In 1999 he co-founded a now successful biotechnology company, ICX. Since the outset of his career, Dr. Russell has received numerous prestigious awards for his contributions to research, teaching and public service. Specific recognition includes: R&D 100; Carnegie Award for Excellence in Science and Technology; American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering, Fellow; Presidential Young Investigator, National Science Foundation; Chancellor’s Distinguished Research Award.

Gregory R. Spencer most recently served as Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer of Equitable Resources, Inc. Prior to that assignment he was responsible for Human Resources for United States Steel Corporation. Randall Enterprises, LLC has residential and commercial properties in Florida and Western Pennsylvania. In July 2006, through his affiliate, Randall Industries, LLC, Greg closed the acquisition of a chemical manufacturing company based in Indiana County, Pa. It is one of the largest minority owned manufacturing companies in that industry. Greg is Chairman of the Board for The Hill House Association and immediate past Chairman of the African American Chamber of Commerce of Western Pennsylvania. He also serves on the Board of Directors of NEED, a college access program for minority students.

Arthur Ziegler currently serves as President of the Pittsburgh History & Landmarks Foundation and its subsidiaries, Landmarks Financial and Landmarks Development Corporations. Since 1964, he has worked to promote historic preservation as an effective means to creating sustainable affordable housing, healthy neighborhoods and economic development opportunities. Arthur has authored numerous books and essays on historic preservation and holds Trustee positions on the Sarah Scaife Foundation, Allegheny Foundation, The Walden Trust and is Trustee Emeritus for the National Trust for Historic Preservation where he received its highest award for his work. He is also referenced in the Who’s Who in the World, Who’s Who in America and 2,000 Men of Achievement.
